Best Supplements For Fibromyalgia

These are the best supplements I have ever found for helping relieve and eventually help reverse fibromyalgia symptoms for me. I did not take them all at once. I would never suggest anyone take more than one at a time, becuase then how would you know what was and wasn’t helping you?

I tried them in the order I am giving them here: first probiotics, then valerian root, then fish oil, then coconut oil, then quercetin, over the course of 5 years. If you are considering trying these, I would suggest trying one and waiting at least a month before you try another – long enough for you to accurately know if the supplement had any discernable effect on you. If it helps or not.

I also tried magnesium, but magnesium did not seem to help me so I am not including it in my list.

probiotics: first I tried a general probiotic like acidophilus pearls. These worked well to decrease my palpitations and tipped me off to the fact that my body needed them. Eventually, i tried Garden of Life’s Fungal Defense and these were amazing. I would take them and within and hour I would feel my body ‘zinging’ like my nerves were all on high-alert, but not a bad high alert. This eventually went away, as my body got healthier. Don’t take them before bed. :) I like the prices at eVitamins for both of these products (acidophilus pearls and Garden of Life Fungal Defense).

I have tried higher end probiotics like Reuteri pearls and Dr. Ohhira’s probiotics, but I did not notice any difference or effect in my body at my then level of wellness over regular probiotics.

valerian root: I took valerian root for years in order to help me sleep. It is a very stinky herb, but man does it work. I like the nature’s way brand for a low price, and it works just fine. eVitamins has it too.

fish oil: I like the Nordic Naturals fish oil because it is high quality, it has vitamin E included, which is important so the fish oil doesn’t go rancid, and because they have a kid’s version with strawberry essence which my son loves. Great prices on fish oil at eVitamins.

When I first started taking fish oil, I again got that zinging feeling in my nerves – like I was wide awake for the first time ever. Again, this has gone away after continued use, but I still wouldn’t take these before bed.

Coconut Oil: I read many things about how there are good fats, even good saturated fats and how our body needs fats and how coconut oil is an amazing fat. Read more about what I like about coconut oil for fibro here.

Quercetin: My son’s naturopath actually recommended Quercetin for him because of a nighttime coughing issue he had. We put my son on it and noticed a HUGE difference, so I started taking it just to see. Quercetin is an antioxidant. It’s quiet interesting. I haven’t been sick in quite a while now. Even when others get sick around me, I don’t. I would take quercetin to stay healthy before I would take ecchinacia or vitamin C even.

I don’t know that quercetin affects fibromyalgia directly, but not getting sick (even colds) can help anyone, ESPECIALLY someone with fibromyalgia.

** This is not a supplement, but if you haven’t heard of the guaifenesin protocol, here’s my info on it. It helped me immensely.
