Thank you Jody, and you are welcome! I try not to speak ill about doctors, but I haven't been to see one for about 6 years - since the one I was at tried to tell me I must have HIV since the only people who get thrush in their mouth have HIV (I got it from taking two antibiotics at the same time). That was my moment of 'you have got to be kidding me'. So I'm right there with you :)

I have been dealing with Fibromyalgia since a serious horse accident in July 2009. I have been very frustrated that Dr.s just can't seem to help me enough. I am on quite a few prescriptions that helped in the beginning when I stated taking them. The longer I am on them the more I have to take, the less they work. The Rhumatologist told me the other day that there isn't much more she can do for me as pertains to the stiffness and pain I feel in my muscles and joints. I feel like my muscles have shrunk, like rubber bands with no stretch left. Any how I have just started looking for help on line. It is hard for me to believe that my problem is all mental. Reading your blog has opened my eyes to what I need to start doing for myself...since Dr.s are no helping. I have so lost my faith in the medical industry!! Something a lot of people lost a long time ago...maybe that is why eastern Chinese/Indian medicine & techniques are still popular today. Thank you for sharing your research and experience...Thanks for helping me to understand what is going on with me!! :) Your explanation of over active nerves was great!! Thanks so very much!!

Hi Janis, thanks for your comment. I have never tried pilates, but I've heard it's similar to yoga, and I LOVE yoga :). I'll be interested to hear what other people say too. Lisa

I have had fibromyalgia for at least 15 years. I get massage and started pilates about 6 months ago. I only do 1/2 hour twice a week. It helpds to make you feel strong by working the core and forcing you to go just slightly past your comfort zone. Have others gotten releif with Pilates.
