Desperate and Hurting from Fibromyalgia Pain?

March 28, 2010 by Lisa

Are you desperate and hurting from fibromyalgia pain? I know exactly how you feel. I’ve been there.

I know the pain and the terror and the anguish that goes along with having an illness that makes you feel like you want to die and that no one can help you with.

I know how it feels to feel like you aren’t good enough or like you should have done or been something different. I know how much it sucks to look mostly normal but feel like you belong in a hospital.

I say mostly normal because for me, my hair was falling out and I was gaining weight and I never looked like I had any life in my face. I had big bags under my eyes and sometimes my face would take on that doughy consistency that I associate with much older people.

So, that’s not really normal, or at least not what I wanted to look like. But I didn’t look sick or injured.

I know how it feels to have a doctor tell you “there’s nothing wrong with you” or to have a doctor tell you something you blatantly know is WRONG but you’re the one who has to feel stupid because they are the one with the training and degree and supposed knowledge and all the power.

The doctor has the power to give you medicine or withhold it. He or she has the power to send you to a physical therapist or massage therapist and if they do your insurance will pay for it, and if they don’t, well, that’s that.

Your doctor has the power to imply that your swollen fibro muscles are ‘just fat’ and that your pain is ‘all in your head’. And they are the doctor. So now your husband or family believes them over you.

I know how it feels to not have one ounce of energy to do ANYTHING, and yet still have a family that wants something from you. And then if you summon the last reserves of your strength from the very bottom of the well and DO IT, they don’t even appreciate it. crap. makes me wanna scream.

I still get freaked out when people want something from me and I feel even the teeniest bit not good.

Ok, so I am in a bit of a crappy mood today and that is why this is all pouring out of me. Because most of the time I don’t feel like that anymore.

I am soooo very sorry if you are currently in that place.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2003, but I clawed my way back to ‘normalcy’ over the course of 5 years and I don’t have fibro anymore.

These days I mostly feel really good. I rarely if ever have pain. I have this great understanding of my body and my mind and why I got fibro and how I cured it.

I want every one in the world with fibromyalgia to come through it to the other side and find the peace and joy and energy and good-feeling muscles that I have.

I want YOU to feel good, as swiftly as possible.

I know you can. If I did it, anyone can do it, in my opinion.

I’ll tell you right now the four things that helped me get better the most:

1) restorative stretching
2) self trigger point massage
3) the guaifenesin protocol
4) emotional sculpting

Now, the thing is, with fibromyalgia, your body is such a chronically tight and painful mess that I think you must proceed SLOWLY. I’ve made myself sick on more than one occasion (sick with extra pain and nausea) by overstretching and I’ve wasted a lot of energy trying out different things.

Please, if you really want to get better from fibromyalgia, consider my book, 30 Days to Feel Better From Fibromyalgia. It eases you in to everything I ever did that helped me get better in ways that won’t give you more pain now. I know you don’t need more pain now.

  4. Hi Carol, I don’t know for sure – you could look into raw foods like raw nuts. You can eat more when they are raw because the composition is different. Maybe look for a beginners raw diet book. You can also look into living fuel. http://livingfuel.com/ good luck

  6. I just finished a website chronicling my journey towards learning to manage my fibromyalgia through natural means, as well as coming to peace with the disease. Like you, I suffered with fibromyalgia for many years. It is easy to give up hope, but with diet and lifestyle changes, it can be managed if not healed.

My new website can be found at http://www.fibrodove.com.
